Strikers Day
There can be no doubt that shooting is the most
important aspect of attacking play.
Everything that an individual or team does is designed
to contribute towards creating a shooting opportunity.
Whether you’re a forward or an attacking midfielder we
can develop your shooting techniques and awareness.
Players will take part in individual practices covering
the following aspects of the game ie Shooting outside
the penalty box, Shooting inside the box, Crossing Near
& Far Post, Dribbling, Turning and Heading
They will take part in related and realistic practices
through phases of play which include, attacking from
central and wide areas, combine movement to create
space, overlap and blindside runs, Improvisation,
inventive play and Crossing and finishing. Players will
develop their individual technique and will have a
greater understanding of combine play and unit of play
within a team.
Defenders Day
Learning to defend is typically much easier than
learning to attack. This is because the defenders
primary job is to simply dispossess the attacker. A key
element in good defending is remembering the defenders
primary role is to break down the attack. To defend well
as a team Players need to learn the art of defending as
an individual.
Players that attend will take part in 1v1 practices such
as, stop players from passing forward, prevent players
from dribbling forward and prevent players from turning.
They will learn about being patient, when to challenge
and communicating with other players.
The next development will be to work as a unit, 3v3, 4v4
which will include covering distance, covering angle,
tracking, man to man marking and communication all the
essential qualities of a good defender.
The final phase is combining the three units, forwards,
midfield and defenders and working as a team.
When to defend, where to defend, slowing the attack
down, covering distance and angle.
All these practices give the individual player an
understanding of their positional role within a team.
Goalkeeping Day
The goalkeeper is one of the most important players
on the field - they are the last line of defence and the
first line of attack. To play the position well requires
